The Ideas Wall & IPE Global

Low birth weight remains a major nutrition challenge, driven in part by maternal undernutrition. Addressing it requires more than resources alone—it calls for listening to local realities, lived experiences, and the factors that shape nutrition decisions. Voices4Nutrition, an initiative led by IPE Global, is a collaborative global space for voices, ideas, and lived experiences around maternal & child nutrition. From handwritten reflections at the summit booth to digital submissions from across geographies, the platform brings together diverse perspectives that can inspire stronger, more context-sensitive approaches to improving nutrition outcomes.

IPE Global is a leading South Asia-based think-and-do tank that designs and delivers evidence-driven solutions to complex development challenges. Working at the intersection of policy, research, and implementation, we partner with governments, development agencies, philanthropies, and communities to improve lives at scale. Our expertise spans behavioural research and communication, community mobilisation, government partnerships, programme design, and monitoring and evaluation.

What Shapes
Her Plate?

Every plate tells a story.

For many women, nutrition choices during pregnancy are shaped not only by access to food, but also by family support, social norms, decision-making power, access to trusted information, and the systems that surround them.

What shapes her plate? The answer goes beyond food alone. It lies in the influences, relationships, resources, and realities that shape everyday nutrition decisions. Drawing on implementation learnings from IPE Global's Cash Plus model in India, this experience explores how these factors interact—and what they can teach us about improving maternal nutrition.
